Wearing the Hijab for Lent
A Christian woman blogs about her experience of wearing the hijab as a spiritual practice during Lent this season.
Greetings! Thanks for posting a link to my blog here. I find it especially fitting since you are considering "how concepts of the body are incorporated" into religous practice, spirituality, and belief. Just one note of clarification: I was raised Christian, but am now a practicing Buddhist. I make this point, not to dissociate myself from my Chrisitan upbringing, but rather to highlight that Buddhist practices (especially meditation and the cultivation of mindfulness) deeply inform and contribute to how I process my bodily experience of wearing the hijab. All the best,
